Vintage &
classic car parts for sale
With
a successful model railway business to manage, I have not enough time
to bring the following projects to completion. I've had fun
collecting the parts, with trips round the country to get in before the
scrap man. However, I would now like the space for other things
and so this is all available for reasonable offers. Photos can be taken on request. Parts are
stored in more than one site, so
please get in touch
before hiring a trailer. Most are located in Buckinghamshire,
although some of the Chevrolet parts are in Nottinghamshire. With
the exception of the manuals and very small parts, all items are for
collection only.
Chevrolet model T ton truck project, c1927.
This lorry started
off working in a quarry in Louth (Lincs) as part of a fleet of 4.
Recovered some years ago, this would either yield useful spares or
the start of an interesting project. This is not a Ford model T,
although some Ford parts such as wheels and bodywork are probably easily
adaptable for use with these parts.
This
consists of : 2 pairs of axles; torque tube; prop shaft;
rusty remains of chassis frame plus better condition dumb irons and rear spring hangers; steering column and steering box
(right hand drive version); steering box to chassis bracket (RHD
x2), frost damaged engine block, and various engine parts and gaskets.
I'm looking for offers around £250 for the lot.
I have various instruction and repair manuals for the truck and 490 which may assist in their restoration:
Chevrolet Service Manual 1919 (reprint)
Chevrolet Repair Manual 1928 (reprint)
Instructions (490 & Superior) 1923 (Original)
Instructions (Superior Series V) 1926 (Original)
Chevrolet 490 chassis parts:
Bare
engine block, believed good (£50); inlet manifold with later carb; front
half of RHD chassis frame (last used under a saw bench) virtually
rust free and ideal for repair or special (£25); spare wheel carrier suit saloon car(£15).
Hillman Minx:
Having not found the time to build an open-topped touring
'special', the time has come to get the garage back
and concentrate on other projects.
Superminx: Rear lamp clusters (x 2) (£5)
1948 Minx: NOS rear brakelight glass (boxed, £5)
1940-47 Minx:
Speedometer (£5), NOS front
wing (£45), used pair
front wings & radiator housing (£50), front chrome
grilles (£20).
1937/8 Minx: Dashboard (bakelite);
windscreen pillar covers (bakelite), wiper motor.
1936 Minx: Bare chassis frame rust free, but missing front cross member due to
'custom car treatment'
In response to various queries over which manuals are available, here is a provisional list:
Condition
varies, with some in near-mint condition and others having signs of use
in a workshop environment or water damage. Most driver's
instruction books are paperback, most manuals and parts lists are
foolscap hardbacks.
Aftermarket owner's manuals:
Ford 8 Handbook 1933-48 (Pitman, 1948)
Ford Popular Handbook 1953-58 (Pitman 1958)
The Gregg book of the Ford Anglia 1945-52 (Gregg, 1952)
Spare parts manuals (illustated parts lists)
Humber Hawk 1948 model.
